PNC Bank Robbed In Cleveland Wednesday Afternoon

The lone suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after demanding money from one of the bank's tellers.

CLEVELAND — A PNC Bank branch on Chester Avenue, near University Circle, was robbed Wednesday afternoon, the FBI announced. Law enforcement is asking the public for help finding the lone suspect.

The robbery happened a little before 4 p.m. An unidentified man walked into the PNC at 4005 Chester and demanded cash from one of the tellers. He told the teller he wanted all of the money in her cash drawer.

The teller handed over the money and the man ran out of the bank. No weapons were seen and no one was hurt during the robbery.

The lone suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s. He stands between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 7 inches. He had a clean shaven face and a slim build, the FBI said. The suspect was seen running north after he got out of the bank.

PNC is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the successful identification and persecution of the suspect.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity is asked to contact either the Cleveland Police's 3rd District, the Cleveland Division of the FBI, or Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can be anonymous and reward money is available for information that aids investigators. That reward money is in addition to the money being offered by PNC.
