Police Find SUV That Hit Ayana Barkley In Cleveland
Investigators haven't yet found the driver of the vehicle, but they're hoping this break will lead them to the suspect.
CLEVELAND — Police have found the SUV they believe hit Ayana Barkley in late September and left her battling for her life. Investigators are now trying to find the owner of the SUV.
On Septmber 28, Barkley, 26, was visiting Poochie's Deli on Miles Avenue at 2:15 a.m. She left the business and was crossing Miles Avenue when she was hit by an SUV. The SUV did not stop and continued west down Miles.
Cleveland police put out a call for help identifying the driver and finding the SUV. On Tuesday morning, Cleveland police announced they impounded a 2004 Ford Explorer with heavy front end damage. The vehicle matches the description of the SUV seen hitting B arkley.

The SUV was towed and is being processed. Detectives hope the Explorer will help them find the driver.
