Police Officer Hurt During Car Chase In Downtown Cleveland
One person has been taken into custody, police said.

UPDATE: Police now say there was no kidnapping.
CLEVELAND — A police officer was hurt when a car chase ended with a crash in downtown Cleveland.
At 3:30 p.m. on Monday, police spotted a car connected to the kidnapping of a 16-year-old boy. Officers tried to stop the car, but it sped away.

During the pursuit, there was a car crash involving a police cruiser at E. 9th and Superior. One police officer was hurt, a Cleveland police spokesperson said.
The 16-year-old has been found by police and is currently safe. He is being treated at a hospital for injuries sustained during the car crash, police said.
