Police Release More Details On 24-Year-Old's Death In The Flats
Police believe a man jumped from his eighth story balcony in an attempt to escape a bail bondsman.

CLEVELAND — Police have released additional information on their investigation into the death of a 24-year-old man that fell to his death in the Flats neighborhood of Cleveland. Investigators found narcotics and weapons in the man's apartment.
On Saturday, August 31, a bail bondsman was trying to serve a warrant at an apartment complex above Punch Bowl Social. Police believe the 24-year-old may have jumped from his balcony in an attempt to escape the bail bondsman.
The 24-year-old was taken to MetroHealth for treatment but later died from his injuries.

Investigators said the bondsman did not go into the apartment because he thought there were several people inside. The bondsman suspected there were weapons inside the apartment.
Police were sent to the Flats at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday to investigate. SWAT units entered the apartment and found no one else inside. However, officers found a large quantity of suspected narcotics and weapons inside.

The bomb squad also searched the apartment, as a precautionary measure. There were no bombs inside. Drug making devices were found inside the apartment, police said.
