Police Shoot Fugitive At Steelyard Commons
Cleveland police said they shot a man in the parking lot of the Walmart at Steelyard Commons.
CLEVELAND — A 31-year-old man was shot by Cleveland police Friday afternoon.
Dewayne Taylor, 31, was being tracked by U.S. Marshals and Cleveland police. He was accused of pointing a gun at police officers in New Mexico and then fleeing the state.
At noon, officers found Taylor in the parking lot of the Walmart at Steelyard Commons. According to a Cleveland police spokesperson, as police tried to take him into custody, Taylor pulled out a gun and pointed it at officers.

Police then shot Taylor. He was taken into custody and then moved to MetroHealth Medical Center. His injuries were not life threatening, police said. He is still at the hospital.
No police officers were hurt during the shooting.

A gun was found in the parking lot, police said.
Members of the Cleveland police, U.S. Marshals and Euclid police department were involved in Friday's shooting.
The shooting and Taylor's arrest are still being investigated.
