Power Out For More Than 23,000 Cuyahoga County Residents
After the season's first major snowstorm, more than 20,000 Cuyahoga County residents are in the dark.

CLEVELAND — More than 23,000 Cuyahoga County residents are without power after the season's first major snowstorm.
FirstEnergy said that with severe weather causing a rash of power outages across Northeast Ohio, it's difficult to provide an estimate on when power will be restored to the majority of its customers.
The communities that were hit hardest with power outages are: Chagrin Falls, Cleveland, Garfield Heights, Gates Mills, Lakewood, Middleburg Heights, North Olmsted, Parma, Parma Heights, Warrensville Heights and Westlake.

An additional 5 to 9 inches of snow could fall Tuesday, with another 2 inches possible on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures are unlikely to rise out of the mid-30s until Thursday.
Much of northern Ohio is under a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. The agency said travel could be nearly impossible in parts of the state due to the storm.

"Storm total snow accumulations of 6 to 16 inches with higher amounts in the higher terrain east and south of Cleveland. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph," the National Weather Service said.
