Pregnant Woman Shot In Cleveland, Unborn Child Dead
Police said a pregnant woman was shot multiple times after attending a vigil. Her unborn child did not survive the shooting.
CLEVELAND — A pregnant woman was shot multiple times on Friday, Cleveland police announced. The woman's unborn child has died due to the injuries, police said.
At 1 a.m. on Friday, police were called to E. 110th and Crestwood. When officers arrived they learned a 19-year-old woman had been taken to a hospital after being shot multiple times.
Investigators determined the woman had been attending a vigil for a homicide victim. She was in her car and talking to another woman when a car approached and multiple shots were fired in her direction.

Police said there were 20 bullet defects found in the woman's car.
The woman was pulled from her car and driven to the Cleveland Clinic, before being transferred to University Hospitals for additional treatment.

The woman's unborn child, 24 weeks old, did not survive the shooting. The child was declared dead at the hospital.
Police are still investigating the shooting.
