Prepare For Snow In May: Ohio Weather Forecast

There won't be a ton of accumulation, but there will be snow this weekend in Northeast Ohio.

CLEVELAND — After a relatively mild winter, it should come as no surprise that Ohio has more snow waiting to fall. Current forecasts show a light snow shower coating the northern portion of the Buckeye State on Friday night and Saturday morning.

The snowfall shouldn't stack very high, less than one inch of snow should accumulate in most areas. Temperatures will plunge into the low-30s overnight on Friday, turning rainfall into snowflakes, the National Weather Service warns.

Rain will begin to fall on Friday afternoon or evening, before temperatures dip and conditions chill enough for snow. Less than a .5 inch of snow will fall overnight, forecasts say. Snow showers could continue through 11 a.m. on Saturday, before turning back to rain. Less than a .5 inch of snow should fall on Saturday morning.

The chance of precipitation on Friday and Saturday is 60 percent.

New England and other northeastern states could see far more snow this weekend, up to a foot in some areas, according to NBC News. Parts of the Midwest and Appalachia will also be under freeze warnings on Friday night.
