President Trump Calls Ohio Democrat A 'Bad Person' During Rally

One day before the midterm elections, the president is stumping for Jim Renacci and other Republicans in Cuyahoga County.

CLEVELAND — President Donald Trump made a last-minute stop in Cleveland, hoping to rally Northeast Ohio voters before the midterm elections. In a speech at the IX Center, the president tried to boost the chances of Ohio Republicans like Jim Renacci and Mike DeWine.

"In every city and town across our land, we are going to work, we are going to fight, and we are going to win, win, win," Trump said near the conclusion of his rally. He then said he would not bend, break, give up, or surrender.

Trump took shots at Richard Cordray, the Democratic nominee for governor, calling him "a bad person" twice in the span of two sentences. He said Cordray was a socialist who would do a "terrible job" in Ohio.

The president then said foreign countries are stealing American jobs, comparing Americans to infants, saying other nations are stealing "our jobs like we're babies. Little babies." He touted the opening of a $700 million iron-making plant in Toledo as a sign of progress in securing American work.

The president is visiting a bevy of cities before Tuesday's elections, and was in Cleveland at about 3 p.m. at the I-X Center. After the Ohio event, Trump will campaign in Fort Wayne, Indiana and then in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. During the Missouri rally, the president will be joined by Fox News host Sean Hannity, radio personality Rush Limbaugh, and musician Lee Greenwood.

Trump and other notable national Republicans have not been strangers to Ohio voters. The president was in the Buckeye State on October 12, campaigning for Renacci and Rep. Steve Chabot. Vice President Mike Pence, Eric Trump, and other surrogates have all been in Ohio in recent months, lending starpower to local rallies.
