Protest Planned In Cleveland For State Of The Union
Several groups from across the state will gather in Market Square to denounce the President's immigration actions.

CLEVELAND, OH — President Donald Trump will deliver his first State of the Union address at 9 p.m. on Tuesday night. Several groups in Cleveland are already planning protests and discussion groups in response to the speech.
At 5:30 p.m., in advance of the speech, there will be a protest denouncing the deportation of Americans, including Youngstown businessman Amer Adi Othman, an Ohio native for four decades. Protesters will gather at Market Square, at the corner of W. 25th and Lorain Avenue.
A diverse group of organizations, including the InterReligious Task Force on Central America and Colombia, DreamActivist Ohio, Greater Cleveland Immigrant Support Network, Cleveland Jobs with Justice, America’s Voice Ohio, Northern Ohio Detention Support Network, Democratic Socialists of America Cleveland, Action Together Lakewood, and others will join the display.

Following the protest, there will be a gathering to watch and respond to the President's address. At 8:30 p.m., at Market Garden Brewery on W. 25th, attendees will watch the State of the Union and then take part in a political forum, voicing their concerns on healthcare, immigration, the environment and other topics.
That event is being sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation; the Climate Action Campaign; For Ohio’s Future Action Fund; Indivisible CLE; Action Together Lakewood Area; Ohio Environmental Council; and the Sierra Club, Ohio Chapter.
