Robber Puts Gun to Brinks Driver's Head in Cleveland, Steals ATM Cash

The robber approached the Brinks worker from behind, put a gun to his head, demanded whatever cash the employee had and then ran off.

CLEVELAND, OH - The FBI and Cleveland Police are currently searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Brinks messenger at the PNC Bank at 16614 Harvard Ave., Cleveland on Wednesday. The messenger was coming to service the ATM at the bank.

The suspect approached the messenger on foot and appeared to come from a bus stop vestibule on Harvard Ave., police say. The messenger got out of his car and walked toward the entrance of the bank, he was carrying a Brinks canvass bag containing money and tools to service the ATM.

The suspect attacked the messenger from behind, pinning the messenger to the bank door and putting a pistol to his head. The suspect demanded cash, grabbed the Brinks bag, and ran down Harvard Avenue. He was spotted running behind the Burger King Restaurant and Rent-A-Center on Eldamere Avenue.

The suspect jumped into a white Ford Fusion on Edlamere and drove west toward Lee Road.

Police say the suspect is a black male, approximately 6’ tall, thin, and armed with a black semi-auto handgun. He was wearing a dark blue Metro Security skull cap, a ski mask face covering and dark blue clothing with Metro Security patch/identifiers.

Tips can be provided to the Cleveland Division of the FBI or the Cleveland Division of Police. Reward money is available for information leading to the identification and prosecution of the individual responsible. Tips can remain anonymous.
