Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Announces 2017 Inductees: Pearl Jam and Tupac In

Joan Baez, ELO, Yes and Journey also made the cut. Jane's Addiction, J. Geils Band, Depeche Mode and others will wait another year.

CLEVELAND, OH — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2017. Next year's inductees will include Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam, Yes, Journey, Joan Baez and Electric Light Orchestra. Nile Rodgers will be given the Award for Musical Excellence.

The group will be officially inducted at the 32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on April 7, 2017, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Ticket sale dates and broadcast information will be announced in early 2017.

Voters selected the seven inductees from a pool of 19 possible candidates. The artists that got snubbed include The Zombies, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, Janet Jackson, the Cars, Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Chic, J. Geils Band, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, MC5 and Steppenwolf.

Chic has now been nominated and passed over a record 11 times. Meanwhile, The Smiths and Nine Inch Nails failed to even get nominated this year.
