Donald Trump's Catholic Problem, The Man Siphoning Money From Trump, Hillary Clinton's Weak Gay Rights History and More

Donald Trump is having a hard time attracting Catholics, plus more from today's news.

It's not exactly a secret that Donald Trump has alienated large sectors of the electorate, but add Catholics to the list. With no answers to poverty or immigration, Trump has lost another major demographic. With each group lost, that's an opportunity for Democrats to take more seats in the House this fall, which could even allow them to reclaim control of the House if Trump continues to lose voters for the GOP.

Donald Trump Has a Massive Catholic Problem: "Much has been made of Donald Trump’s problems with a few voting groups — female voters, blacks and Hispanics, and young voters, in particular. And, to be sure, they are all problems. But relatively speaking, his biggest problem actually appears to be with a different group: Catholics." (The Washington Post)

Democrats Step Up Pursuit of House Republicans Left Limping by Donald Trump: "Emboldened by Donald J. Meet the Man Siphoning Money from Donald Trump: "At a glance, the two websites look virtually indistinguishable. Both feature a photo of Donald Trump, in a suit and red tie, in front of a giant American flag. Both seemingly offer a chance for two to win dinner with Donald Trump. One is at donaldjtrump.com; the other is at dinnerwithtrump.org. The first belongs to Trump’s campaign. The second is a scheme run by Ian Hawes, a 25-year-old Maryland man who has no affiliation with Trump or his campaign and who has preyed on more than 20,000 unsuspecting donors, collecting more than $1 million in the process." Hillary Clinton Had the Chance to Make Gay Rights History. She Refused: "During her first run for president in 2008, Hillary Clinton had an opportunity to become an undisputed leader in the gay rights movement. As she prepared for a forum on the gay-oriented Logo network, she reached out to her friend Hilary Rosen, a political consultant who is a lesbian. Rosen expressed frustration that so many mainstream political figures opposed legalized same-sex marriage, and she challenged Clinton to speak out for a community that had strongly supported her."
