Serial Robber Hits Two Cleveland Banks

The FBI said the suspect may have hit a Key Bank and a PNC bank on Friday.

CLEVELAND, OH — A Key Bank on Chester Avenue in Cleveland was robbed on Friday afternoon, the FBI said. The suspect is also believed to be responsible for a robbery at a PNC on Chester that also occurred on Friday.

At about 2:20 p.m. on Friday, a white man came into the Key Bank. He walked to a table in the bank, wrote a note and then handed it to the teller. The suspect then told the teller he would hurt her if she didn't cooperate. The teller gave the man money. The FBI does not typically disclose the amount of cash that was taken.

The suspect is a white man, possibly in his 50s or 60s. He was wearing a Holy Cross Crusaders shirt under a dark colored jacket, blue jeans and a black beanie. He ran out of the bank's west doors and appeared to get into a dark Dodge Grand Caravan and then drove off.
