'Shawshank Redemption' Cast, Celebration Coming To Ohio
Several of the key players in the classic film will journey to Mansfield for a special weekend celebrating the movie.

MANSFIELD, OH — Several actors from "The Shawshank Redemption" will come to Mansfield as part of a special 25th anniversary celebration for the film. The entire movie was filmed in and around Mansfield in 1994.
The anniversary celebration will be held August 16-18. Visitors will be able to travel the "Shawshank Trail" around town, with actors from the cast, and check out the Ohio State Reformatory where most of the film took place.
To date, Bob Gunton (Warden Norton), William Sadler (Heywood), Mark Rolston (Bogs), Frank Medrano (Fat Ass), Alfonso Freeman (Red’s Mugshot and a Fresh Fish Guy), Scott Mann (Glenn Quentin), Renee Blaine (Linda Dufresne) and Claire Slemmer (Bank Teller) have been booked for the event.

The event organizers said they are working to get more cast members to take part in the event, and additional events are being added to the three-day anniversary celebration. At the moment, more than a dozen original film sites in and around Mansfield will be hosting tours during the weekend.

During the weekend, guests will be able to take the Hollywood Prison Tour through the Ohio State Reformatory, a tour which includes Warden Norton's office and Andy Dufresne's escape tunnel (and everything in between).
