CLEVELAND — One person was killed and another hurt in a shooting on Cleveland's east side on Monday, police announced.

At 12:45 p.m. officers patrolling E. 124th St. heard gunshots. Two men, at separate addresses, were found wounded.

A 28-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds was declared dead on the sidewalk, police said.

A 43-year-old man, with a gunshot wound in his back was taken to University Hospitals.

Police believe both men were standing outside when a car rolled by. A man inside the car began shooting, hitting both men.

Members of the Cleveland police homicide unit are taking part in the investigation. No arrests have yet been made.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office identified the 28-year-old Dontrell Deonte Hill, of Cleveland, on Tuesday morning.
