Shooting At Cleveland Gas Station: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt

An unidentified man died after being shot in the side at a gas station in Cleveland on Sunday night.

CLEVELAND — A man was shot and killed on Cleveland's east side on late Sunday night, police announced. Investigators have not yet identified the killed man.

The shooting happened at 11:55 p.m., at a gas station on St. Clair Avenue. When police arrived, they found two people had been shot. The unidentified man was declared dead inside the gas station.

The second person, a 54-year-old man, had been shot in the knee. He was taken to University Hospitals for treatment, police said.

Investigators believe an unidentified suspect fired a gun toward the gas station from across the street. He hit the two men, both of whom were standing in the parking lot. After being shot, the two men ran inside the gas station, where police found them.

Members of the Cleveland police homicide unit are taking part in the investigation into the shooting. No arrests have yet been made, police said.
