Shooting At Cleveland Recreation Center, 1 Dead

One man was shot in the head and killed. A teenager was shot in both legs and was rushed to a local hospital.

CLEVELAND — Two people were shot at the Zelma George Recreation Center on Wednesday night. A 21-year-old man is dead and a 15-year-old was shot in both of their legs, Cleveland Police said when they relesed more information on the incident on Thursday morning.

The shooting happened at about 6:20 p.m. Police were called to the recreation center for reports of a shooting.

Witnesses told police that an argument started at the recreation center and then escalated until someone pulled out a gun. Shots were fired and hit both the victims.

Officers found a 21-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head. After first aid was administered, he was rushed to University Hospitals, where he died.

Officers also found a 15-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to his legs. He was also rushed to University Hospitals. He has been treated and released from the hospital, police confirmed.

The Cleveland Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is currently investigating the incident. Police are not releasing additional details.
