Shooting At Kerruish Park: 1 Dead, 3 Injured

Cleveland police said one man was killed in a shooting at the Tarkington Avenue park.

CLEVELAND - One person was killed and two people were injured in a shooting at Kerruish Park on Sunday night.

Investigators believe several dice games were happening in the park, at about 8:30 p.m. Kerruish was crowded with people when shots rang out. Witnesses said once a gun was fired, people began running.

Several spent shell casings were found in the park. Two weapons and two vehicles were towed for processing.

Frankie Jackson, 21, was shot multiple times during the incident. He was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center by EMS, but was pronounced dead on Sunday, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.

Three other people were hurt during the shooting. They were taken to hospitals for treatment. Two of the wounded have been released, the third is confined at Hillcrest Hospital.

Kerruish Park is at 17200 Tarkington Avenue, near Lee Road and Cleveland's border with Maple Heights.
