Shoplifters, Theft Schemes Caught At Solon Groceries
Police caught a pair of teenage employees at Marc's engaging in a theft scheme. Plus, two shoplifters get busted.

SOLON, OH — Shoplifting was a popular sport during the first two weeks of April in Solon. Two customers and two employees of local grocery stores were both busted for theft schemes.
Two under-18 employees of Marc's were caught selling merchandise for less than its worth on April 2. The loss cost the store about $150, according to police records.
A 16-year-old Solon girl and a 17-year-old Garfield Heights girl were both referred to the city's juvenile officers. Possible theft charges are being considered.

Then, on April 5, police had to return to Marc's. Loss prevention officers at the store stopped a customer that was trying to leave the grocer without paying for a cart full of merchandise. The Marc's employees confronted the ma in the parking lot of the store, where they saw a car waiting for him.
Police were called to the scene after they pair of suspects fled the area in their car. Officers caught their vehicle on US 422. A 57-year-old from Cleveland was arrested for theft and a 53-year-old Cleveland man was arrested for complicity.

More stolen merchandise from Walmart in Bainbridge was found in the car and turned over to the Bainbridge Police Department.
Finally, on April 9, police were called to Market District for a shoplifting in progress. Loss prevention at that store said they saw a man with a red hat and jacket covered in cartoon character try to steal items from the store. When he was confronted by employees in the parking lot he dropped the stolen items and took off running.
Police saw a man on Aurora Road, heading west, that matched the store's description of the suspect. However, the man wasn't wearing the outfit employees had described. Officers stopped the man and discovered the man had turned his jacket inside out and had stuffed the red hat into his jacket pocket.
The 29-year-old Cleveland man was arrested and charged with theft.
