Snow, Ice To Hit Northeast Ohio: Winter Weather Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service said up to 4 inches of snow and a layer of ice could fall in Northeast Ohio on Wednesday night.

CLEVELAND — Up to 4 inches of snow could fall between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the National Weather Service warned. The winter storm could impact the morning commute on Thursday.

Atop the expected snow, a glaze of ice could develop. After the snowfall, a brief period of freezing rain is possible, which could then be buried under additional snow. The National Weather Service said ice accumulations will be focused between Mansfield to Akron, and cities north of that will get additional snow.

"Low pressure over Texas will move quickly northeast across southern Ohio and central Pennsylvania Wednesday night. The storm system will bring mixed precipitation to the area and will cause difficult travel conditions Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning," the National Weather Service said.
