'Star Wars' Composer To Conduct Cleveland Orchestra
John Williams is responsible for some of the most iconic scores in cinema history, including "Star Wars," "Jaws," and "Jurassic Park."

CLEVELAND — Legendary cinema composer John Williams will conduct the Cleveland Orchestra in April. Tickets for the event will go on sale to the general public on Jan. 14, the orchestra announced.
Williams is responsible for some of the most iconic movie scores in history. He composed the music for "Star Wars," "Jurassic Park," "E.T. the Extra Terrestrial," "Jaws," and many other films.
The Cleveland Orchestra will welcome Williams for a one-night-only performance on April 26 at 3 p.m. at Severance Hall. Williams will lead the orchestra through a collection of his film scores.

Starting his career in the 1950s, Williams composed music for concert stage and then transitioned to films. His catalog includes work on over 100 films, including three Harry Potter movies, the entire Indiana Jones series and more. He is perhaps best known for his collaborative work with Steven Speilberg.
Williams has earned five Academy Awards, 51 Oscar nominations, 24 Grammy Awards, four Golden Globes and three Emmys. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Arts, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute.

Over the years, Williams has led the Cleveland Orchestra through numerous performances at Blossom Music Festival. He made his Severance Hall debut in 2018.
