Teenager Shot In The Chest On Bader Avenue In Cleveland

The 19-year-old was rushed to MetroHealth for treatment because his condition was deteriorating, police said.

CLEVELAND, OH — A 19-year-old was shot in the chest on Tuesday night on Bader Avenue. The teenager received first aid on the scene from officers before being rushed to MetroHealth for treatment.

Police were called to the 3500 block of Bader at about 11:30 p.m. after callers reported hearing gunshots. When officers arrived they saw an unoccupied car and, nearby, the 19-year-old with a gunshot wound in his chest.

After providing aid to the 19-year-old, police got permission to take him to MetroHealth because his condition was deteriorating.

Officers later learned that the unoccupied car had belonged to the 19-year-old. He was driving south on State Road when a grey Mitsubishi SUV pulled up beside him. The vehicle then swerved in front of the 19-year-old's car and started to back up. Then someone got out of the SUV and started shooting at the teenager.

The 19-year-old got out of his car and started running before he collapsed on Bader Avenue, where police eventually found him.
