Teen's Killing Linked To Other Shooting In Cleveland
Two shootings near W. 85th St., which resulted in two deaths, are connected, police believe.

CLEVELAND — Police believe the shooting deaths of two people on W. 85th Street are connected. Both killings happened on Monday evening, according to investigators.
A 17-year-old driving home from a soccer game was carjacked by an unidentified man. During the incident, the teenager was shot near his clavicle.
Investigators believe the teenager was in his car, stopped at an intersection, when a man ran up to the vehicle and jumped into the backseat. Residents then heard gunshots and found the teenager in the street.

Police later found the teenager and gave him first aid. EMS rushed the 17-year-old to MetroHealth, where he was later pronounced dead.
Before the teenager was shot, police were investigating a nearby shooting. At 9:50 p.m., a man was shot and killed on W. 85th Street, near where the teenager was found. When police arrived at the man's home, he was on his front porch, bleeding, and being tended to by neighbors.

The man was taken to MetroHealth where he later died. Residents said they saw an unknown man running from the area. Police now believe that man ran off and then tried to carjack the teenager to secure a getaway car.
