Temperatures Are Dangerously Cold In Northeast Ohio

With wind chill, temperatures could plunge as low as -20 degrees. That cold can cause frostbite in 30 minutes.

Four Ohio counties are under a wind chill advisory as temperatures plunge to dangerous lows.

With winds hitting about 13 mph, wind chill temperatures could go as low as -20. That level of cold can cause frost bite in just 30 minutes, the National Weather Service warned.

Lorain, Cuyahoga, Stark and Mahoning counties are all under a wind chill advisory until at least noon on Monday. However, temperatures are expected to go into the single digits overnight, so a warm-up will not be quick in coming.

"Frostbite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves," the National Weather Service said.

Temperatures should start to climb on Tuesday, into the low 30s, but wind chill will things dangerously cold. Current forecasts show a wind chill temperature of -7 for Tuesday.

Strong winds are expected to blow into town on Tuesday night, with gusts hitting close to 30 mph overnight. By Wednesday, temperatures will be in the mid-40s, though rain is expected.
