These Are The 10 Best Hotels In Ohio: US News Report

CLEVELAND, OH — US News recently released a ranking of the 10 best hotels in each state. Ohio's most luxurious and must-stay-at destinations are found almost exclusively in Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus, with one outlier in a Cleveland suburb.

US News also produced a national ranking of the best hotels. The report looked at more than 24,000 luxury hotels to come up with the rankings. Hotels that received a gold badge were in the top 10 percent of ranked hotels. Hawaii’s Four Seasons Resort Lanai ranked first, followed by The Peninsula Chicago at No. 2 and The Langham, Chicago at No. 3. None of Ohio's hotels cracked the national top 10.

Still, for folks that want a staycation without actually staying in their home, here are the 10 most luxurious hotels in Ohio.

2. Kimpton Schofield Hotel, Cleveland
3. The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland
4. InterContinental, Cleveland
5. Inn Walden, Aurora
6. Metropolitan at the 9, Autograph Collection, Cleveland
7. Hilton Columbus Downtown, Columbus
8. Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, Cincinnati
9. Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph, Columbus
10. Hotel LeVeque, Autograph Collection, Columbus

If you're looking out-of-state, California and New York had the most gold badge winners with 38 and 26 gold badge hotels, respectively. There were also 24 in Florida.

Among cities, New York City ranked highest in the number of gold badge hotels with 24 — more than double that of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, which tied for second with 11. Washington, D.C. and Chicago had 1o and eight gold badge hotels, respectively.
