Thunderstorms Possible This Weekend: Northeast Ohio Forecast
Rain and thunderstorms could drench Northeast Ohio throughout the first weekend of August.
CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohioans could be in for a rainy start to August.
Current forecasts show rain is possible on Saturday and Sunday, with thunderstorms likely to form on Sunday evening. Less than one-tenth of an inch of rain is likely to fall on Saturday afternoon, though more concentrated precipitation is possible during thunderstorms. One-half an inch of rain could fall on Saturday night.
There is currently a 60-percent chance of rain on Saturday and a 60-percent chance of thunderstorms forming on Sunday evening. Temperatures will fluctuate between the low 80s and high 60s.

Winds should remain calm throughout the weekend, though they could kick up slightly during storms. The National Weather Service said winds should blow at about 5 mph throughout the weekend.
Lake Erie's beaches were placed under a beach hazards statement through at least Friday evening.

"Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake," the National Weather Service said.
