Top Party Colleges In America: Ohio School Makes Top 5

OXFORD, OH — Miami of Ohio is the nation's third-best college or university for partying, according to a new ranking by Niche, a school and neighborhood analysis website. Two Southern universities beat out Miami, meaning the Oxford, Ohio-based college is the best place to get down north of the Mason-Dixon line.

"If you want to party on almost any given night of the week, you can party. If you can't find a party the bars are open every night, and every night of the week a different drink special or something to entice you to come out on a Wednesday night when you have a class at 8:30 the next morning," said one student review on the Niche website.

The two colleges that beat out Miami of Ohio were Tulane University (in New Orleans) and the University of Georgia, which were ranked first and second respectively. The top five was rounded out by the University of Iowa (4th) and Florida State University (5th).

The next closest party-happy Ohio college to make the list was Ohio University, which clocked in at No. 11, just missing the Top 10. The Ohio State University came in at No. 18.

The rankings were determined by compiling and grading five different factors: student reviews on Niche, access to bars according to the U.S. Census, the college's athletic grades on Niche, the college's Greek life grade on Niche, and access to restaurants. The student reviews were weighted more heavily than any other category.

"For a small town in the middle of nowhere, Oxford is surprisingly exciting. With over 20 bars, and tons of restaurants that also serve alcohol, you can definitely go all four years without getting bored," said another Miami of Ohio freshman student on Niche.
