Unaired SNL Sketch Pokes Fun At Cleveland Cavaliers
Everyone not named Lebron James was skewered in a send-up of the team's supporting cast.
CLEVELAND, OH — The 2018 NBA playoffs have been...interesting for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The first round series against the Indiana Pacers surprisingly went seven games and LeBron James had to pull out a few iconic moments to drag his team, kicking and screaming, into the second round. The King's performance was legendary.
His supporting cast's performance was...what's the opposite of legendary? So bad a sketch making fun of you gets cut from Saturday Night Live? Well, the team's performance was so laughably bad it became fodder for Saturday Night Live in a sketch that didn't air on TV.
Pre-game hype videos usually feature a package of highlights — dunks, emphatic blocks, game-winning shots — set to music designed to get the crowed hyped up. In a sketch that was cut for time on Saturday, Donald Glover (the guest host) and the SNL cast portray LeBron's supporting cast in their own hype video.

"Whatever LeBron needs, we'll get it done...as long as what he needs isn't basketball," the players say, while clips of James making plays roll behind them. The cast point out that they're great at holding his third and fourth cell phones and giving high fives after a made free throw.
According to the video, the team's center is a dog named Pancake and the starting point guard is a Roomba. The second leading scorer? A chain smoking woman.

"You know that thing where you roll the ball up the court to save time? I'm pretty good at that," Glover quips while wearing a Jeff Green jersey.
"I run the pick-and-roll. That's where I pick up LeBron's laundry and roll it on over to his house," another SNL cast member says.
The video ends with the players all saying, "Thanks LeBron" before Glover gets serious. "And hey...sorry man."
The Cavaliers are up 3-0 against the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed the Toronto Raptors. LeBron has hit one game-winner in the series and had a triple double in Game 1. Kevin Love has been pretty good. Pancake deserves more playing time though.
