Here are the top stories today in Cleveland:
- With a recent surge in cases, demand for COVID-19 testing is higher than ever in northern Ohio. At the University Circle COVID-19 testing site, staffed by the Ohio National Guard and the Ohio Department of Health, the line was cut off after three hours on Tuesday. The organizations are reportedly reconsidering the location of the community testing site because of its hindrance to city traffic. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
- The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center reported an increase of over 50 percent in child sexual assault survivors in 2021. While the data suggests a spike in sexual assaults, Chief External Affairs Officer Sara Trimble believes what we are actually seeing is an increase in survivors reporting their attacks. Whether or not someone chooses to report to law enforcement, the Center's free services are still available to all survivors of rape, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. (Cleveland 19 News)
- The Greater Cleveland Food Bank and its partners don't take time off for Christmas. They've shared their list of sites that are offering hot meals over the upcoming holiday. If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, call the Greater Cleveland Food Bank's Help Center at (216)-738-2067. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
