Wanted Man Rams Police Cruiser In Cleveland: Police

Cleveland police said they tried to serve a warrant on Thursday night and the wanted person tried to escape officers.

CLEVELAND — A man wanted by police used an SUV to ram an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser in Cleveland on Thursday night. The man tried to then run from police but a K9 unit helped track him down.

Officers from the Cleveland police gang impact unit, along with agents from the ATF and Ohio State Highway Patrol, went to serve a warrant on Leondre Tucker, 19. Law enforcement were going to arrest Tucker in the area of E. 55th Street and Superior Avenue.

Tucker was wanted on multiple charges, including attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery and kidnapping. A Cleveland police spokesperson said Tucker is suspected of committing a series of robberies at Verizon stores.

When officers tried to serve the warrant, and take Tucker into custody, he rammed an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser with an SUV, police said.

Tucker then jumped out of the SUV and took off running, cutting through a McDonald's drive-through.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol brought a K9 to track Tucker and the 19-year-old was taken into custody shortly after he escaped police.
