CLEVELAND — New Year's Eve will be a snowy affair for much of Northeast Ohio, according to current forecasts. The National Weather Service is predicting 1 to 3 inches of snow could fall on Tuesday afternoon, with another inch possible overnight.

After unseasonably warm temperatures thawed Greater Cleveland over Christmas, the region will see a return to normal as 2020 begins. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low-30s on Tuesday and remain in the 30s and low 40s for the rest of the week.

Snow showers will taper off by Wednesday morning, but precipitation will fall again on Thursday. Temperatures should be warm enough to prevent snow, but rain will shower Northeast Ohio on Thursday and Friday and could continue into Saturday.
