Here are the top 3 stories today in Cleveland:
- The first big winter storm of the year dropped several inches of snow over the northeast and specifically in Ohio. Are you curious to see how much snow your community got? The weather service released a report on the total number of inches across Ohio communities. (cleveland.com)
- Doctors in Northeast Ohio are reporting a rise in croup cases amongst children. As pediatric COVID-19 cases continue to rise, croup is becoming more common given that the two share similar symptoms, including a cough and inflammation that can impair breathing. Children struggling with croup should go outside for short periods of time as the cold air clears their airways. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
- In an act of kindness, strangers were witnessed in downtown Cleveland helping to bail motorists out of the snow. Cars, buses, and other vehicles were stuck when strangers started digging and pushing vehicles out. (Cleveland 19 News)
Doing a "Dry January" or just looking for a flavorful alternative to regular cocktails? Here's a suggestion: try a non-alcoholic drink from our partners at Betera. Created by an award-winning chef from natural botanicals, Betera's drinks come in 3 flavors — Ginger-Orange, Elderflower-Lime and Rhubarb-Hibiscus. We tried Ginger-Orange, and it was excellent — lightly effervescent, floral with a hint of bitterness and the sippability of a cocktail.
Betera is offering readers of the Daily a 15% discount on their first order: use PATCH15 at checkout. Highly recommended — you can try Betera here.
