Winter Storm Warning Extended Through Wednesday Morning
Northeast Ohio's first major snowstorm will continue dumping snow on parts of the state through Wednesday morning.
CLEVELAND — The winter storm warning for much of northern Ohio has been extended through 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Another 11 inches of snow could fall in parts of Northeast Ohio as the season's first major snowstorm hits the state. A total of 16 inches of snow could fall during this winter event, the National Weather Service said.
"Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute," the agency said.

More than 50,000 northern Ohio residents are without power after the season's first major snowstorm.
FirstEnergy said that with severe weather causing a rash of power outages across the region, it's difficult to provide an estimate on when power will be restored to the majority of its customers.

An additional 5 to 9 inches of snow could fall Tuesday, with another 2 inches possible on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. Temperatures are unlikely to rise out of the mid-30s until Thursday.
"Snow will diminish from west to east this afternoon with lingering lake effect snow expected [Tuesday] into Wednesday," the agency said.
Much of northern Ohio is under a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. The agency said travel could be nearly impossible in parts of the state due to the storm.
"Storm total snow accumulations of 6 to 16 inches with higher amounts in the higher terrain east and south of Cleveland. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph," the National Weather Service said.
