Here are the top three stories today in Cleveland:
- Cleveland Fire Department crews rescued a woman from a house fire on the city's West Side on Sunday. The crews responded to the 2000 block of West 104 Street where a blaze ignited in a home's attic. The Red Cross is currently assisting four residents who were displaced by the blaze. - An agreement has been reached between union projectionists and Playhouse Square for this year's Cleveland International Film Festival. The agreement's joint statement is scheduled to be released later today. The agreement reportedly includes having three union projectionists on the festival staff to provide technical help. (cleveland.com)
- The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority's CEO and General Manager says free public transit fares will not happen. According to India Birdsong, it will be difficult to handle squatters, joyriders, increased demand, and budget issues that free fare will create. A recent study reports that free fares will cost RTA at least $40 million a year. (cleveland.com)
