EnergizeCare creates community in the face of Alzheimer's (dispatch.com) β Families in central Ohio facing Alzheimer's now have growing support through EnergizeCare's Memory Discos at the Columbus Zoo and Healthy New Albany, plus caregiver education and respite sessions. The New Albany nonprofit is also opening Lisa's Place on Sawmill Road in Dublin by early October, creating Ohio's first freestanding nonβmedical dementia respite and adult day center.

2. Veterans help Ohio communities recover from storm damage (spectrumnews1.com) β Veteran volunteers with Team Rubicon are in Columbus helping residents clear storm-damaged trees and debris at no cost, coordinating with the city's emergency management team and 311. About 100 volunteers statewide have already assisted 45 Columbus families, including restoring a neighborhood community garden so kids can safely use the space again.

3. Ohio police therapy dog helps attack victim in moment of need (wowktv.com) β Columbus Police's therapy dog unit is quietly supporting local crime victims, including 11-year-old Avery Russell, who testified in court with therapy dog Maverick at her side. Avery's experience helped inspire Ohio's new Avery's Law, which increases penalties for dangerous dog attacks and requires euthanasia for dogs that seriously injure or kill someone unprovoked.

4. Alicia Keys' 'Hell's Kitchen' musical to make Columbus debut at Ohio Theatre (abc6onyourside.com) β Alicia Keys' Tony-winning musical "Hell's Kitchen" is headed to downtown Columbus, with an eight-show run at the Ohio Theatre June 15β20, 2027. Broadway in Columbus is already selling tickets, giving local theater fans plenty of time to lock in seats for the hit show's first-ever stop here.

Here are the 156 players who qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour Finals (golfchannel.com) β Columbus golf fans can look ahead to hosting the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship from Sept. 17β20, one of four Korn Ferry Tour Finals events that decide PGA Tour cards. The playoff series starts Sept. 10 in Tennessee and will narrow a 156βplayer field down to 60 by the Richmond finale.
