1. 11th annual Linden Block Party brings community, families together in Columbus (cwcolumbus.com) ā Families in Columbus's Linden neighborhood can head to the free 11th Annual Linden Block Party this Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Greater Columbus Community House on East 17th Avenue. Organizers are packing the day with kids' activities, resources for youth and families, food, entertainment, and a custom car and motorcycle show, while also inviting local businesses and groups to join as sponsors or vendors.

Activists disrupt Columbus City Council meeting over Flock cameras (dispatch.com) ā Columbus City Council's debate over renewing its contract for Flock license-plate cameras is intensifying after activists disrupted Monday's meeting and delivered a 600-signature petition demanding the cameras come down immediately. Several councilmembers now openly favor removing the cameras, while others want tighter rules, and a separate surveillance software contract was pulled back to committee after questions about data sharing with police.
