District leaders and union representatives warn these deeper cuts will increasingly touch classrooms, even as officials say they're trying to stabilize longβterm finances and avoid running out of cash by 2030.

Columbus man accused of attacking ex-girlfriend with machete (10tv.com) β A Columbus woman was hospitalized after police say her ex-boyfriend attacked her with a machete inside her home on South 22nd Street Sunday morning. Officers with the Columbus Division of Police responded, documented head and hand injuries, and arrested 40-year-old Robert Robbins, who now faces a felonious assault charge and a court appearance Wednesday.

3. 79 missing children found in Operation Meridian (nbc4i.com) β Federal marshals and Columbus-area law enforcement located 79 missing Ohio children in a month-long effort they call the state's largest operation of its kind. Working closely with Columbus Police, they rescued siblings hidden in a Lockbourne crawlspace and a Columbus restaurant, and urge residents to report any concerns about vulnerable kids, even anonymously.

4. Ohio State earns commitment from 2028 tight end (cleveland.com) β Ohio State has added three-star tight end Luke Sohyda to its 2028 recruiting class, in news centered right here in Columbus. The Pennsylvania prospect joins a highly rated offensive group featuring blue-chip talent at quarterback, running back, and receiver, reinforcing the Buckeyes' long-term plans that local fans will be watching closely.
