Cincinnati Resident Recognized Nationally for Community Service

Ohio Connections Academy student is one of eight Ohioans named "Distinguished Finalist" in national community service program

Ohio Connections Academy freshman Caitlyn Miler of Cincinnati, was among eight Ohio high school students to be named a “Distinguished Finalist” in the 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States' largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service.

Caitlyn’s service to the community includes volunteering at MYCincinnati (Music for Youth in Cincinnati) a free, daily youth orchestra program that provides low-income children access to music education opportunities. Having benefitted from the program as a participant, Caitlyn spends her time helping the teachers by giving group and private lessons to beginning students.

In recognition of her outstanding service to the community, Caitlyn was recently presented a Certificate of Excellence and a bronze medallion by Prudential representative Heather Michael and Ohio Connections Academy administrators.
