Families for a Cure Awards Grants to Central Ohio Organizations
Local non-profit continues its mission to support organizations that help cancer patients and families live better
More than a dozen local non-profit organizations that provide support services to families and individuals fighting cancer and other serious illnesses were awarded grants totaling more than $70,000 from Families for a Cure (FFAC). The grants were announced during the organization’s “Double Bogey Invitational” golf outing before more than 200 volunteers, supporters, and participants.
In addition to the grants to help the local cancer support organizations, Families for a Cure will commit another $20,000 this year to support local cancer research and $15,000 to its Allison Orlando Wood Patient Experience Grant. This program provides individuals and families fighting cancer with the opportunity to get away from the daily reality and create new memories with friends and family.
“Too many members in our community have come to learn the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis can have, not only to the individual, but their family and friends,” said Families for a Cure Director and Founder Pat Puhl. “In addition to raising money to support research to find a cure, our mission includes supporting those patient care programs that are making a difference in the lives of those affected by a serious illness.”
