Musicians from The Columbus Symphony Orchestra at The Day School

May 2, 2023--Three musicians from The Columbus Symphony Orchestra sponsored by The Brian Muha Memorial Foundation came to play, talk and laugh with the students at The Run the Race Center Day School today.

What beautiful music. It filled the room, filled our hearts and minds - and moved the children. They were transported to a beautiful world, just what they need every day. Now they want to learn to play the violin, flute, harp and guitar!

After lunch the children made thank-you cards for our new friends. Several said they wish the concert could have gone on for another hour! Thank you Sue Kelly for inviting our guests and thank you Jeanne Norton, Mary Harris and Katherine Jones: what talent, skill and joy.

Friends, the children at The Day School need your help. Do you have a guitar (any size), flute, violin or other instrument you don't need any longer? We can use them! The children can learn on them.

Speaking of learning: is there anyone who would like to volunteer to teach an instrument one or two hours a week? We would love that. Please let me know. For more information please contact Rachel.Muha@gmail.com

The Day School

The Day School sponsored by The Brian Muha Foundation opened in September 2020. We are purposely a "small school" where we took only 10 students that first year. Most of our classes were at The Run The Race Farm where the children could learn outside.

Now in our third year, we have 20 students. The students are all thriving.

The Day School is free of charge and we have classes at The Center and at The Run The Race Farm (we provide transportation).

Many Fridays at The Farm are Fridays With The Horses where the children learn to take care of and ride horses, learn math and science through the study of horses, learn history and geography too, all while being out in the country.
