Ohio Secretary Of State Candidate Raises $342K

COLUMBUS, OH - From Kathleen Clyde for Secretary of State: Today State Representative Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) announced that her campaign for Secretary of State has raised $342,580 for the July 31st semi-annual filing period, with more than $425,000 cash on hand. Clyde’s haul outpaces every single down-ticket Democratic candidate’s fundraising at this point in the 2014 cycle.

“I’m grateful for the outpouring of support at this early stage, as Ohioans embrace our campaign to ensure every Ohioan’s voice is heard and every Ohioan’s vote is counted,” said Rep. Kathleen Clyde. “I’ll be a Secretary of State who knows Ohio deserves better than endless attacks on voting rights and gerrymandered, hyper-partisan districts that gridlock our democracy.”

Rep. Kathleen Clyde announced her candidacy for Ohio Secretary of State in May 2017. While in the legislature, she has been a relentless advocate for redistricting reform and voting rights, including fighting for early voting, working to stop illegal voter purging, and helping regain the rights of young people to vote in presidential primaries. She has also fought against Senate Bill 5 and other attacks on working families. She currently represents the 75th Ohio house district in Portage County.
