• David Leroy Elzey « The VW independent (thevwindependent.com) — Convoy is mourning longtime resident David Leroy Elzey, 85, whose funeral is set for Saturday, October 3, in Van Wert. A former Convoy Volunteer Fire Department member and past president of the Convoy Historical Museum, he was active in local churches and community groups, leaving a legacy of service remembered by family and neighbors.
   

• VWCO Sheriff's activity log 10/1/2026 « The VW independent (thevwindependent.com) — Several sheriff’s calls on October 1 directly involved Convoy, including EMS runs to Maple and West Tully streets for residents who fell and a separate call about an unruly juvenile on East Tully Street. The log also details nearby reckless driving reports, warrants served, and other county incidents that may affect Convoy-area travel and safety awareness.
