What does the term 'acceptable use' mean when we try to build an honest & responsible community?

Must I ask a person of interest (who uses an alias) for permission to give them negative feedback?

I have read the 'Terms of Use' posted on http://cuyahogafalls.patch.com/terms


I understand the term 'acceptable use' as needed to reach the following purpose.Β Purpose: When we care about each other then our community thrives (grows and changes).

The following statements are based on my read of the term 'acceptable use' on Patch.I have rephrased the content related to 'Acceptable Use' (to simplify and clarify).

I am focused on how (I | we) can use Patch in an 'acceptable' way to build our community.I want to use Patch to build an honest, open, and responsible community in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

I do not intend to:Β 

- Defame, abuse, or offend you;

- Infringe or violate your intellectual property rights;Β 

- Violate your right to publish or privatize your posts and comments;

- Threaten or promote hatred or physical harm against you;

- Promote or encourage violence against you;

- Write inaccurate, false or misleading statements;

- Promote an illegal action;

- Copy/link to your copyrighted work or circumvent security measures;

- Write β€œmasked” profanity (e.g., F@&#)

- Solicit ... .

I am responsible for my content posted on Patch.

In the absence of guidance by the editors of Patch, I will assume some things.
I will assume that I have permission of 80% of my community members to:

- Describe the cues, actions, and results (performance systems) of people in our community;

- If a person of interest gives me their email address then I will give them private feedback; Β 

- If a person uses what I can only assume is an alias) then I will give public feedback.

- Compliment you publicly when you perform an action useful to our community - without asking for your permission.

And, I reserve the right to clarify all of my above assumptions based on feedback from real people.
