Candidate Statement: Β If elected I will hold quarterly ward meetings so that residents can be kept informed, and express any issues and concerns. I will also continue to walk the neighborhoods occasionally so I can keep in close contact with my constituents.

As a teacher for 19 years, I'm aware that in order to get things done I must be a self-starter. I believe that's one of my strong suits. I have served in several leadership roles in community organizations: past president, Akron alumnae of Delta Gamma, past secretary St. Anthony PTU, and mentor teacher.

If I don't have the answers, I know how to find them. Two issues have come up repeatedly as I've walked the ward: 1. Conditions of vacant homes and their effect on property values. I would work aggressively with lending institutions to ensure proper maintenance. 2. Sewer and drainage issues: The city instituted an effective storm water utility. Areas in Ward 4 need addressed. I'd work closely with the mayor and service director to ensure that they are addressed. Another issue is the Oak Park area. I would hold a neighborhood meeting with Mayor Robart, a police representative, and the Park and Recreation director in attendance, to hear neighbors' concerns and to brainstorm solutions.

My father taught me by example that you give back to your community. Cuyahoga Falls has been a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I want to keep it that way. I am running for City Council because I believe I can be a strong advocate for the citizens of Ward 4. I have a good working relationship with the administration and I know how to get things done.Β
