Cuyahoga Falls Memorial Day Parade Steps off Monday
The parade will be comprised of about 100 floats, cars and military vehicles, along with scores of participants.

On Monday, Cuyahoga Falls will host its 81st annual Memorial Day parade, which, over the decades, has become the biggest and oldest parade of its kind in Summit County.
It steps off at 9 a.m. from Portage Trail and Lillis Drive and will head east on Portage and north on Fourth Street to Oakwood Drive, according to Dave Sebastian, chairman of the CuyahogaΒ Falls Memorial Day Parade Committee.
The parade will then spill into Oakwood Cemetery with a remembrance ceremony at about 11 a.m.

Additionally, 2013 marks the 60th anniversary of the end of the Korean War.

In recognition of that milestone, the parade committee will hand out 175 special gold medallions to the Korean veterans before they step off as a symbol of appreciation for their service, according to summitcountygop.org.Β
