CVCA, Woodridge, Walsh Run Deep in Cross Country State Championships

CVCA, Woodridge boys finish in top five, CVCA girls finish fourth.

The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Walsh Jesuit and Woodridge High School cross country teams all performed well in last weekend's state championship events.

The CVCA boys placed third overall in Division II, while Woodridge finished fourth overall. Neighboring rival St. Vincent-St. Mary finished second.

Drake Sulzer of Woodridge placed fourth individually with a time of 15:54.85

In girls D-II, CVCA finished fourth overall and Woodridge placed 13th in the state. St. Vincent-St. Mary won the girls D-II state championship.

Samantha Bockoven was the individual runner-up in D-II girls with a time of 18:28.50.

Walsh boys placed third in Division I. Tony Howkins was the Warriors' top individual runner, placing eighth with at time of 15:41.69.

The Walsh girls placed 15th in D-I state competition.
