Despite Crippling Fire, Technicote Aims to Rebuild in the Falls
If the local adhesives manufacturer gets the tax break proposed by city officials, it could break ground for a new $10 million factory by late June.

this past December, many felt the local adhesives manufacturer would pack up and move on.
Now, five months later, thereβs a good chance Technicote Inc. will stay in the Falls, rebuild and expand its operation due, in large part, to the work of city officials and devoted factory employees.
To seal the deal, the Cuyahoga Falls City Council will need to approve a measure on May 29 granting a 15-year, 50 percent property tax exemption to the 30-year-old company, said Deputy Director of Development Jennifer Syx during Mondayβs committee meeting.

The property tax savings would amount to $35,000 a year, she said.
If council members pass the agreement next week, construction of the proposed 45,000 square foot, $10.3 million project could break ground by late June, said Judson Waters, Technicoteβs director of operations.

The eight-figure expenditure would pay for the rebuild, updated equipment and a new inventory, said Waters.
If all goes as planned, the factory -- which would be constructed on the site of the old complex - could be operational by December.
βWe feel like weβve made the right decision in staying here and itβs our goal to remain in the Falls for another 30 years,β he said.
