Pilgrim Church OUTDOOR Family Movie Night

The community is invited to attend Pilgrim's Outdoor Movie Night!Β  We're showing the movie "25 Hill" - the story of the Soapbox Derby of Akron, Ohio.Β  The film, shot largely in Greater Akron last yar, charts the journey of 11-year old Trey Caldwell, played by Nathan Gamble ("Marley & Me"). After his dad is killed in Afghanistan, Trey strives to compete in and help revive the faltering Soap Box Derby, and must devise a way to get from his California home to Ohio.Β  "25 Hill" refers to a derby racing hill in Taft, Calif. Trey's West Coast house is actually located on Athens Road in the Akron suburb of Silver Lake. Sacramento, Calif. is played by Cleveland. Shooting started in April 2010, then moved to California. Bernsen and crew later filmed Gamble traveling cross-country and returned to Akron and Cleveland last July to shoot derby footage and other scenes with more than 1,000 extras from Northeast Ohio.

The movie will be shown on the back wall of the church for a super-sized "drive-in" feeling.Β  Bring your family, yourself and some friends and come on out for a lovely evening.Β  Bring a beverage to share...popcorn will be provided.Β  Little "wigglers" are welcome to play on the playground while parents and siblings enjoy the movie!
