Franz Welser-Möst leads The Cleveland Orchestra in a special Blossom Festival performance of Bruckner’s last completed symphony, in an edition edited by Leopold Nowak representing the composer's original conception of the work — before well-meaning assistants and conductors asked him to revise it to better ensure it a “popular” reception. The symphony remains one of Bruckner’s most magnificent creations, filled with beauty, grace, and an overarching sense of grandeur.
